The Oshkosh Convention & Visitors Bureau along with the Oshkosh and Winnebago County Sports Commission (OWCSC) is newly incorporated and moving forward. Oshkosh is an extremely flexible and affordable city that is ready and willing to accommodate your sporting event in any way we can. It is our mission to go above and beyond the normal expectations of our visitors.
There are many reasons why Oshkosh is the perfect sporting destination—convenient location between Milwaukee and Green Bay, multiple sporting venues including a new state of the art Sports Complex and UW Oshkosh Kolf Sports Center and an inviting community, just to name a few. However, one of Oshkosh’s most unique and fun resources is one that comes naturally—the water. Oshkosh is surrounded by Lake Winnebago on the east, Lake Butte des Morts on the west and the Fox River running through the downtown.
Home to the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Titans, Oshkosh has the facility to accommodate your next sporting event. The new Oshkosh Sports Complex is compatible for track and field, soccer and football. A synthetic turf field that resembles natural grass is used for football and soccer. Classified as one of the finest tracks in the NCAA Division III, the Oshkosh Sports Complex offers an Olympic quality nine-lane competitive track that has a running surface identical to the 1992 Summer Olympics held in Barcelona, Spain. Up-to-date training facilities and locker rooms along with expanded/updated concessions, ticket booth, restroom facilities and pre/post function spaces make the Oshkosh Sports Complex one of the finest sports venues in the area. It has the capacity to hold state, regional and national tournaments.
With the assistance of the Oshkosh and Winnebago County Sports Commission, the Oshkosh Convention and Visitors Bureau offers many services to sporting events. Some of the services that we offer but are not limited to are as follows: facilitate fundraising efforts to generate dollars for sporting event bid fees and grants, provide facility information and availability, present formal invitations and bid proposals for events to the area, host site inspections of available facilities, assist in obtaining room blocks and rate information, aid in public relations, fill and send registration and/or welcome packets with information regarding local lodging, dining, attractions and shopping (may include coupons upon request), provide an ambassador to welcome event participants.
With the newly incorporated Oshkosh and Winnebago County Sports Commission, the completion of the new Oshkosh Sports Complex, and the availability of many other sporting venues, it is an exciting time in Oshkosh and a time in which we hope to share this excitement with you! Let the games begin!
