Located in the center of the state, the Wisconsin Rapids area offers various opportunities for sporting events.  From State, Regional & National indoor archery to the State Waterski Tournament, the area benefits from annual competitions as well as the periodic ones such as Babe Ruth National Softball and Regional Baseball.  We’ve hosted Badger State Games hockey and skating, we hold one of the larger soccer (120+ teams) tournaments in Wisconsin, and hold various high school (WIAA) events, including track, wrestling, and gymnastics.  Outdoor sports include shooting ranges, fishing tournaments, ATV trails, and golf courses.

The Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has a sports committee that works with the various local organizations in hosting events.  Assistance with bids, room blocks, media, and volunteers are only some of the ways the CVB can help.  The community is experienced in hosting and running sporting events, and has successfully coordinated community-wide activities for participants during tournaments.  With over 30,000 acres of county owned land in parks and forests, the area is also the largest cranberry producing area in the world.  It’s not unusual for participants to take in a drive or tour of the Cranberry Highway™ while in the area.
