ABMC NATIONAL SPECIALTY TO BE HOSTED IN THE STEVENS POINT AREA

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (May 8, 2017) – This week the American Belgian Malinois Club (ABMC) National Specialty will be hosted for the first time in the Stevens Point Area. The event expects more than 70 entries in the National Specialty Conformation show on Friday, May 12 at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center in Stevens Point.

The event features a full week of events, kicking off Monday, May 8, including AKC Agility Competitions, AKC Tracking Tests, AKC Obedience and Rally Trials and AKC Herding Tests and Trials. Many of the events are open to spectators and the public, including events held at the Holiday Inn Hotel & Convention Center in Stevens Point.

Representatives from the American Belgian Malinois Club will be available for interviews throughout the event.

The breed Belgian Malinois is an intelligent breed of dog, known for its work in law enforcement, including the K-9 officers used by the Portage County Sheriff’s Department.

The American Belgian Malinois Club is the national parent club for the Belgian Malinois affiliated with the American Kennel Club. The club’s objectives are to; protect and promote the interests of the breed through the encouragement of good sportsmanship and camaraderie and to promote activities aimed at improving all aspects of the breed. The National Specialty show is held annually, usually in the spring.
